Graeme McDowell demonstration

Published:

Today’s Golfer were amongst a select crowd who were treated to a shot-making masterclass by Irishman Graeme McDowell at a Callaway Golf evening at Formby Hall golf club Monday night.

McDowell arrived at the Southport club a little worse for wear, fresh from his Scottish Open victory at Loch Lomond where he had clearly been celebrating hard, but was still able to knock some wedges in close to a 100 yard target before striking mid-irons to a 175 yard pin and then bombing his driver down the range.

It was part of a Callaway Golf challenge match McDowell was participating in along with fellow Europeans Nick Dougherty, Oliver Wilson, Niclas Fasth, Michael Campbell and others. They took on a ‘rest of the world’ Callaway team that included Craig Parry in a driving range dual.

After the demonstration we caught up with the Irishman who was confident he can carry his form into The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale this week.
