CLUB COMMENT: Pat Ruddy has been directing upgrades to the course, and recent changes have seen many new greens and bunkers as well as fairway realignment to eliminate blind tee shots.

Darren Clarke’s favourite course in Ireland is built on a peninsula in Donegal Bay. Off the tips it’s far too much for all but the strongest player. But the forward tees make it a very playable and enjoyable test. The start is ordinary but the 5th is anything but, an absolute beast of a par 3 whose name ‘Valley of Tears’ needs little description.
