Initially laid out by Philip Mackenzie Ross, the Kintyre was skilfully updated by Donald Steel and is a pleasant complement to the Ailsa. Some nice holes lined by pines on the front nine conclude with more typical Turnberry fare, the 8th being a thrilling short par 4 played blind to a sunken beachside green.
