Can the host of the 2014 Ryder Cup really be the third-rated course at Gleneagles? According to our panel, yes it can. David McLay Kidd and original designer Jack Nicklaus have both tweaked things here and there in the past decade but the reality is it just doesn’t have quite the charm of the King’s or Queen’s (that said, few do). It is a proper championship test, though, and is exactly what is required to test today’s elite player.
