The fifth-oldest club in the world, Royal Musselburgh begins the riches on offer in East Lothian and is a James Braid design, although it has been tweaked down the years. The 13th starts a stiff closing stretch, a 452-yard par 4 which is protected by collections of bunkers, a narrow tree-lined fairway and a slender green.
