Lynx Boom Boom 3

The Drivers Test 2014: Lynx Boom Boom 3

Cost: £299.

Tech: Lynx’s pressurised “hot gas” injection technology has been combined with new Effective Energy Transfer Technology (EET) to enhance distance and forgiveness.

What we said… James Ridyard: “A unique sounding golf club that goes miles. Nice compact head, but the finish lacks class. Shaft tech is a touch dated. Not sure it justifies the price tag.” Joel Tadman: “Underwhelmed by the look, but the shape is perfect and it felt hot off the face. A big step up for Lynx.” Stephen Kidd: “Distance was consistently long, but I lost more than I wanted when I didn’t catch it, despite maintaining decent feel.” Steve Milnes: “The shaft feels long, I had to grip down to gain control. Lacked forgiveness and appeal.”

Pros: Long – the technology works.

Cons: Lacks forgiveness and adjustability.
