MD Golf STR10

Irons Test 2014: MD Golf STR10

Cost: £299.99 steel £399.99 graphite

Tech: Made from the finest 403 Stainless Steel, the club features an undercut cavity and thick sole. Comes in black PVD finish.

What we said… James Ridyard: “Nice-looking head for the size, nothing off-putting but no wow factor either. Has one of the skinniest grips on the test, which did little to dampen vibration and lowered the feel mark. I found it easy to draw with an appealing mid-to-high flight.” Joel Tadman: “Stark contrast between the grooved area and edges works well. It has a very round shape and the white bottom groove helps alignment.” Gee Gioia: “Glossy black look not to my taste; I like the slim top line but it didn’t feel overly hot.” Adam Holdgate: “Lacked forgiveness but can’t fault the shape or size.”

Pros: Easy to align, popular shape and size.

Cons: Thin grip feels odd and cuts control.
