Irons Test 2014: Orka GS5 SC Tour
Cost: £85 steel, per club
Tech: Cast in 1025 steel, predominantly used in forged irons, offers a premium iron which is precision milled.
What we said... James Ridyard: “Boasts arguably the most curved leading edge on test making it tough to align. Trajectory was fine, it was accurate but not long. Seemed to stall in flight, would suit low spin players better.” Joel Tadman: “Rounded leading edge sits flush to the turf. Shaft and grip felt good but lacked distance.” Gee Gioia: “Felt solid and nice to look at. Got lower-than-average distance but dispersion was tight.” Adam Holdgate: “Quite a small head for a game improver. Decent forgiveness, balls held their line and it was difficult to curve offline.”
Pros: Compact size, classy finish, decent feel.
Cons: Down on power; curved front edge hinders aim.
