De Vere hit awards jackpot

De Vere golf resorts, including Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond and Wychwood Park in Cheshire, were well to the fore at the recent 59Club awards dinner.

As well as individual and venue specific awards, the strength and breadth of the De Vere portfolio was highlighted with De Vere Golf picking up several headline awards including ‘Golf Group of the Year’.

The 59Club, which sets the benchmark for golf service delivery in the UK, recognises venues for their commitment to client satisfaction through a number of criteria, from phone call analysis to golf course presentation and food & beverage service.

The consistently high standards at De Vere golf resorts across the country led to them picking up a total of 11 awards, accounting for almost half of the awards on the night.

As well as De Vere Golf being named ‘Golf Group of the Year’, Wychwood Park also captured one of the headline awards when it won ‘Leading Service Providers’.

Five De Vere golf resorts met the highest standard awarded as recipients of the 4-star service award; Mottram Hall, Cameron House, Dunston Hall, Wychwood Park and Slaley Hall.

There was a host of other awards for De Vere golf resorts and individuals across the UK including Wokefield Park, which won ‘Most Improved Golf Sales Team’, Dunston Hall, for ‘Best Individual Performance by a Golf Operations Team’, Nicola Smith at Wychwood Park, who won the award for ‘Leading Individual Golf Sales Performance’ and Cameron House, which won ‘Golf Sales Office Team of the Year’.

“My team work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that all of our guests have the best possible experience at all of our venues and I’m delighted that their hard work and dedication has been so widely recognised by the 59Club,” commented Daniel Hodson, De Vere’s Director of Golf & Leisure.

“To be named ‘Golf Group of the Year’ and have 5 of the leading 8 venues in the country is testament to the consistently high standards met at all of our golf resorts.

“We will continue to develop our customer relations and service, and with a number of high-profile events returning to De Vere golf resorts in 2011 we have the perfect platform to continue to grow our reputation as one of the leading service providers in the golf market.”

Representing 11 different venues and 16 golf courses across the UK, the De Vere Group experienced a hugely successful 2010, following the launch of the innovative new membership, the De Vere Club, in March.

Setting the precedent for modern, flexible membership schemes, the De Vere Club allows members to play all 16 De Vere golf courses for an annual fee of just £295.

Its flexibility and wide appeal has been popular amongst families, businessmen and the avid golfer, with the membership experiencing a significant uptake over the last 12 months, transcending all expectations. All of the venues recognized by 59Club are included in the De Vere Club membership, ensuring members not only have the choice of a variety of courses, but of some of the best venues in the UK.

With the exception of The Carrick, all the other De Vere venues belong to 2-FORE!-1 and therefore offer half-price golf (with a 2-FORE!-1 vocuher).
