New Baberton GC clubhouse proves an instant hit

This is the swanky new £1.35m clubhouse – and pride and joy – of Edinburgh-based golf club Baberton.
Designed by Susan Stephen Architects, the new clubhouse replaced a century old building which was struggling to accommodate the members and did little to encourage families and youngsters to visit.
Indeed the former clubhouse site was sold to a care home operator with the funds from the sale providing the capital for the new 950sq metres facility.
The new clubhouse impressively features spacious mens and ladies locker rooms, a bar, restaurant, kitchen, offices, pro shop and external terraces andoverlooks the 1st and 10th tees and the 9th and 18th greens of the course plotted within Edinburgh’s greenbelt.
The new clubhouse has proved an instant hit – since completion the club have reported an exceptional increase in food and drink revenue, and the clubhouse has certainly become a more lively environment!
