Tiger Woods and TaylorMade…

Tiger Woods is due to make his return at next month’s Hero World Challenge and he may well be using TaylorMade gear for the first time.

A snapchat video from Will Wilcox, a PGA Tour player, has been the catalyst for rumours that Woods will be using TaylorMade equipment when he returns to competitive action, after he was spotted on the range trying out an M1 fairway wood.

The video has surfaced just weeks after Rory McIlroy opted to replace his Nike woods in favour of a TaylorMade M2 driver and fairway wood, at the HSBC-Champions event in China where he finished tied for fourth.

Paul Casey, Ross Fisher, Brooks Koepka and Francesco Molinari have all recently opted to replace Nike woods with TaylorMade plus Nike staffer Thorbjorn Olesen, won the Turkish Airlines Open two weeks ago using TaylorMade woods, irons and wedges.

All this is helping to consolidate the brands’s position as the number one wood on Tour and having tested their range of drivers, fairways and hybrids in this year’s Top Gear test, here is a look at what we found in testing:

So what does the future hold?

We have been playing match-maker and are convinced Tiger will be the new face of TaylorMade, just like Greg Norman bought in and fronted Cobra for years.

We reckon Tiger will play TM, but like Jason Day, will continue to wear Nike apparel. For now though, we will have to wait and see if the 14-time Major winner does indeed choose to put TaylorMade equipment into play and if he does will he enjoy success with it?
