Goodwood golfers to benefit from Rose Open win

The award-winning Goodwood resort in West Sussex will offer golfers a special green fee rate throughout August 2013 if Justin Rose the club’s global sporting ambassador finishes under par at the close of this year’s Open Championship.

If the current US Open Champion and World No. 3 finishes under par after the four round championship, Goodwood will deduct the amount Justin finishes under par from the 18 hole green fee on the Park Course from August 1st-31st 2013.

Green fees on the 6,650 yard Park Course situated in the stunning 12,000 acre Goodwood estate start at £25 per round so for example a sub par championship finish of 5 under par would reduce the green to just £20!

The 143rd Open Championship gets underway on Thursday at Muirfield, and was last played there in 2002 where Justin finished 2 under par for the championship.

Golfers throughout Sussex and the neighbouring counties will be hoping that the Ryder Cup star can win the Claret Jug next week and become the first Englishman since Nick Faldo became champion at Muirfield in 1992 and emulate his 12 under par finish.

The Par 72 Park Course is widely regarded as a hidden gem in the Sussex countryside and is surrounded by eighteenth century cedars giving the impression of a course much older than its 20 years.

Designed byDonald Steel, the course follows a route through mature woodlands and is a gentle layout designed to provide an enjoyable round of golf for players of all abilities in immaculate condition all year round.

The 19th hole at Goodwood which offers a stylish Bar & Grill and an extensive terraced area overlooking the picturesque 18th hole is also a popular post round pit stop.
