Aussie cricket legend plays at luton hoo event

Golfers came together at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa for the annual charity golf day hosted by the Chiltern Region Lady Taverners.

The fundraising event marked the fourth year the Lady Taverners had organised a golf day at Luton Hoo.

Blessed with good weather the Chiltern Region Lady Taverners managed with just 11 teams to raise £3,600 to help children with special needs and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The funds raised will enable the children to participate in sport with the help of specially adapted minibuses and wheelchairs, sensory equipment and playing facilities.

The golfers played the championship 18 hole par 73 golf course at Luton Hoo, which winds its way through spectacular grounds designed by Capability Brown.

Players included high profile names such as Australian fast bowler and commentator, Jeff Thomson, who was a guest of Savage & Co Solicitors; R&B record producer, DJ and former Another Level member, Dane Bowers and Kenny Wax, producer of the West End show “Top Hat”.

After a delicious three course luncheon served in Luton Hoo’s Adam’s Brasserie prizes were presented by Joan Morcambe.

Matthew Long, General Manager at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa added: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the Lady Taverners and their guests and to once again host such a popular and successful event.”

Luton Hoo is a member of the2-FORE!-1 scheme and accepts 2-FORE!-1 vouchers on Mondays only.
