Classy Mere resort hosts tennis legends

Top 2-FORE!-1 venue The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Cheshire hosts a star-studed tennis event at the end of the month.
And headlining will be 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic who will lead this year’s Boodles Classique from June 27th and 29th.
“This year’s Boodles Classique is shaping up to be an excellent event with the tournament welcoming its strongest player field to date and the lure of The Mere’s setting – it is no surprise that over 70% of the tickets have already been sold. We are very excited about the event and our events team are already working on the preparations for what we believe will be one the biggest and best events the resort has ever held,” commented founder and CEO of The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, Mark Boler.
In addition to Ivanisevic and Richard Krajicek, the field will be completed by former Wimbledon and US Open finalist Mark Philippoussis, two-time Wimbledon doubles Champion Peter McNamara and French Open finalist Mikael Pernfors with one player still to be announced.
Ivanisevic won the hearts of the British fans during his epic Wimbledon win as a wildcard in 2001 and is delighted to be competing at the Boodles Classique.

“I have always enjoyed playing in the north of England where everyone is so welcoming and I look forward to June,” said Ivanisevic.
The tournament is continuing to attract a wide array of new sponsors and partners. Boodles welcomes Hampson Hughes who is launching a new family law department in May, Asahi, Japan’s best selling beer, who will host lakeside Asahi Afternoon Tea Party each day after the close of play and Sunseeker Yachts will be celebrating their new Knutsford showroom.
