MD Golf resurrects the driving and utility iron in Seve Icon range

Do you remember the heady, halcyon days of driving irons and utility irons? Well Seve does and MD Golf’s latest line of Seve Icon irons includes such a club.

Harking back to the days before hybrids when driving irons were commonplace in many golfers bags, the new Seve Icon utility club provides golfers with an ideal driver/wood replacement off the tee and a versatile alternative to a long iron off the deck.

MD Golf say the utility iron offers a high flying and soft lying alternative to traditional long irons because of the thicker sole and lower centre of gravity.

This makes it easier to lift the ball into the air from even the tightest of lies while also proving forgiving on off-centre strikes.

The utility iron is available in 18 and 21 degree lofts in graphite (Proforce 65) and steel (FST Pro 115) shafts.

It retails at £49.99 (steel) and £59.99 (graphite).
