Video review: Wilson Smooth driver

The Wilson Smooth driver has been around for a year or two now but it is still getting the job done fantastically in terms of both looks and performance.

The club is designed to look like a better-players club with a compact-looking head at address that more traditional players will love. However, more inconsistent players shouldn’t turn and run the other way because despite the appearance this is still a 460cc clubhead with plenty of forgiveness built in.

Even our higher-handicap player in our recent drivers test loved the performance of the Smooth, indicating that this is a great all-round offering.

If you are in the market for a new driver then this is a very decent option – particularly as you’ll likely be able to pick one up for less than £200. But to help yo further in that buying decision, TG’s gear team of Jonathan Greathead and David Connor have had the Smooth out on the range to test it out. You can see how they got on in the video below.
