Video review: Callaway Forged Wedge

Wedge expert Roger Cleveland has been designing for Callaway since 1996. His latest creation is the Callaway Forged wedge and our test team thought he had hit the nail on the head perfectly with the design, scoring a perfect five out of five from all six testers for versatility, and eventually taking our Gold Award.

The Tour CC Grooves help promote ideal trajectory and distance control while a softer ‘C’ shape allows for versatility and precise shot-making. Details include 21 tightly spaced, conforming grooves with sharper edges – due to the superior Triple Net Forging process – that provide ideal trajectory and distance control.

The maximum conforming groove capacity ensures moisture is swept away, ensuring more edges come in contact with the ball to maximize friction and increase spin. These wedges are forged from 1020 Carbon Steel for soft feel, with a very traditional styling with a higher toe and straighter leading edge for a square look at address.

TG Equipment Editor Dave went to Valderrama Golf Club in January for their offical launch.

Here’s what him and Senior Equipment Editor Jon made of them.
