Revealed new XXI0 9 woods and irons

XXIO might not be that well known in the UK as they’re predominantly a Japanese brand and they cost a small fortune. But putting aside the cost they’ve made some quality high performance equipment since first being introduced in 2000.

The new XXIO 9 driver features dual speed technologies which they reckon have the ability to wring extra distance from your game. First up XXIO say by using the heaviest driver head the company’s ever produced they are delaying wrist uncoil which adds extra speed to your drives. This is teamed with a new “Wing Cup Face” which has higher COR performance to maximise ball speeds.  There’s also low and deep weighting which is 15mm further back than the previous model to maximise playability especially at lower swing speeds.

The XXIO engineers have obviously been busy as there’s a new MP900 shaft which is lighter and stronger than previous models as well as new matching XXIO 9 fairway’s, hybrids and irons. The irons are super hi-tech as they’re made from 5 separate pieces which includes a lightweight titanium face, high density tungsten nickel sole weighting and a cast body. Why’ve they gone with such a complex design? Well the XXIO engineers reckon golfers typically hit shots too low on the face so by expanding the titanium face down and towards the sole the COR or trampoline effect is greater…which means you get extra speed and distance.
