Woosie and Rocco wow school kids

Ryder Cup legends Ian Woosnam and Costantino Rocca were on hand to impart pearls of golfing wisdom to some local youngsters at De Vere Slaley Hall on Tuesday evening as part of schools tri-golf initiative.
The partnership between the Golf Foundation and De Vere Slaley Hall, which has been encouraging school children across the north east of England to try golf in recent weeks, culminated in a showcase event during the build up to the PGA Seniors Championship.
Woosnam and Rocca helped children from Wingrove School, Newcastle, understand some golf basics.
“Getting children involved in golf at this age is so important.,” commented former Masters Champion Woosnam. “The likes of Tiger, and more recently Rory McIlroy, have proved that age is no barrier.
“To involve the local community in an event like this is fantastic and you never know, this initiative could unearth a future Major Champion!”
Woosnam will be joined by the likes of Sam Torrance, Gordon Brand Jnr and Costantino Rocca on the beautiful Hunting course this week to contend for the De Vere Collection PGA Senior Championship.
