Christmas has come early for promising British young gun Oliver Fisher.

The 18-year-old has turned pro and signed a lucrative deal with Nike.

Fisher, who will play on the European Tour next year, said:  “I am over the moon. To follow in the footsteps of Tiger and co is just the boost I need.”

Fisher has had a successful amateur career. His highlights include winning the St Andrews Links Trophy and two Faldo Series title. He also finished a very credible 13th when he played as an amateur in his first ever professional event last year – The Australian Mastercard Masters.

Faldo said: “Oliver has proved that he is a genuine talent over the last year and he’s been a pleasure to work with.”
