Aldila followed up its victory at this year’s Masters by winning the season’s second major, the 107th U.S. Open Championship.
Using Aldila’s NV ProtoPype shaft in all of his woods and hybrid clubs, Angel Cabrera held off Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk to finish with a one-stroke victory giving Aldila back-to-back U.S. Open Championship titles.
“To win the first two majors of the season is truly an honor and to capture back-to-back U.S. Open titles while doing it is equally a big thrill for us,” said Mike Rossi, Aldila’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We couldn’t be prouder of our shafts and the technology behind them.”

The stiff tip and low launch of the Aldila ProtoPype proved to be a lethal combination for the U.S Open winner as he finished a close second in driving distance averaging more than 310 yards per drive.
According to the Darrell Survey, Aldila was also the shaft count winner for all woods and hybrids at the U.S. Open at the Oakmont Country Club.
