Gary Player has had radical surgery to replace the lenses in his eyes with an artificial version.

The 71-year-old said: “For seven years I lived with not being able to see my golf ball land in the fairway, not being able to read to my grandchildren and being worried about night driving.

“I am now able to read a putt, see my emails and read to my granddaughter without glasses. It has given me back my life.”

Player has had ReZoom lenses surgically fitted to his eyes in a 10-minute operation that anyone can have – providing you’ve got some cash.

“I didn’t feel a thing,” said the South African.
