There is barely a top British architect who hasn’t played a part in the development of this Somerset links. The club was founded in 1890 and engaged the services of a young JH Taylor to be the professional and greenkeeper. Taylor helped with the early design and went on to win five Opens. The par 3s are all very good and Burnham, a regular host of Open qualifying, offers terrific value given its quality.
