Herbert Fowler looked kindly on the esteemed members with a gentle start on the New, which only really comes alive at the 3rd and gets progressively more challenging as the round develops. For a second course, it is absolutely phenomenal and, one feels, if it stood on its own rather than next to a more famous sister, it strangely might be ranked higher. Members at this illustrious two-course club included Winston Churchill and Lloyd George.
