SORLEY:

“The wind can completely change, several times in one day,” says Sorley. “If you’re lucky, you could go out playing downwind, and have the wind change as you make the turn, so you’re coming back with the wind as well. On the other hand, you could be unlucky, and find yourself playing into the wind on almost every hole. The weather can make the course play four or five shots tougher, so you do need the luck of the draw.”
