CLUB COMMENT: There’s a new back tee on the 10th, a new white tee on the 12th and the 4th, 9th, 14th, 17th and 18th have limited bunker changes.

In 1962 the club bought some additional land and invited Fred Hawtree to redesign the back nine. The result is a course with a subtle front nine that gives way to a far more spectacular inward half with a wild, windswept Irish feel to it. The short 10th has deep pot bunkers and compares well to anything at neighbour Birkdale.
